Our monthly MIKE SHE webinar series provides recurring training and news for engineers and scientists working with water in the context of water resource management, groundwater, rivers, wetlands, agriculture, flooding and drought management. Held on the last Wednesday of every month, each session combines 100 minutes of expert instruction with 20 minutes of interactive discussion and Q&A, giving you the opportunity to learn from specialists and get your questions answered.

In our July instalment, we'll provide an introduction of how you can leverage MIKE SHE to create groundwater recharge for your groundwater model in MODFLOW or FEFLOW. You'll also see how to run MIKE SHE with or without its integrated 3D groundwater module, and how to produce spatially and temporally varying groundwater recharge in high resolution.

By attending, you'll learn how to:

  • Build a simple groundwater recharge model in MIKE SHE

  • Expand your model by incorporating 2D overland flow and irrigation processes

  • Develop a robust conceptual model and understand the key considerations for reliable recharge estimates

  • Evaluate model results efficiently and confidently

  • Generate both steady-state and transient recharge (RCH) input files for MODFLOW using MIKE IO and FloPy

  • Import steady-state and transient recharge data directly into FEFLOW through an automated workflow
